Moodboard

This is my moodboard, which represents my ideas for my music video. There will be different scenes in our music video like being at the arcade and being at the beach to filming in a studio. The studio will represent the performance based side and the scenes where were are at the beach, arcade and car park will represent the narrative and concept based side. The poster of the film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' will help build up the theme of youth and fun for our music video.

This is my individual annotation of lyrics so that I can put down my ideas in order to incorporate it into the final music video as well as mixing other ideas from my other group members. 

Treatment for my music video

The treatment for my music video allows me to say what kind of props I want in the music video and where I would like the music video to be set so that I know what is going to happen within the music video.

Final Chosen Song

This is the final chosen song since my group talked about the pros and cons on the previous post. This is the chosen song since we have more ideas to include in this song since we think the lyrics will match the visuals.

We have decided to choose this song, as we have already thought of possible ideas for the video, making it being easier for when the time comes to plan the video.

Representation Essay

I have analysed representation in Avril Lavigne's music video as a part of the process for my music video, in order to get a better understanding of the represenation and to incorprate the different represenations in my music video.

Analysing Narratives in Music Videos

I have analysed the narrative side of the one Katy Perry's video allowing me know what I could include in my music video for the future.

Codes and Conventions of Music Genres

I have picked three different genres to present so that I knoe what the codes and conventions are for each and that I know what to iclude when I pick one of these genres.

I have been able to analyse the textual side of a music video so that I can have a better understanding of music videos.

Andrew Goodwin’s Music Video Conventions

Andrew Goodwin identifies a number of key features which distinguishes the

music video as a form, which I should refer to in the future when producing my music video. 

-A relationship between music and visuals

-A demand from the record company for lots of close-ups of the main artist

-Artist develops their own star iconography in and out of their videos

-Reference to voyeurism (screen within screen, binoculars, cameras…)

Introduction

For my A2 coursework I will be presenting all my work on this blog to show my research, planning, and preparation for my final music video. 

The course brief is a promotion package for the release of an album, which includes a music promo video as well as cover for the release of a digipak (CD/DVD) and a magazine advertisement for the Digi Pak package. I am eager to edit and put my skills of production into practice. My aim is to produce an outstanding music video along with the album cover and the Digi Pak.

The reason for contuining to study A2 Media Studies is because I like learning about the practical side especially how I'm learning to produce a music video. I hope that I will be successful producing the album advert, digi pack and the music video.
